Once Again, Chicagoist Blows Off Downtown Residents

The day after the Chicago City Council votes to rein in the nuisance noise from street performers in downtown Chicago (as Carless reported yesterday), local blog Chicagoist again backhands downtown residents.

According to Chicagoist, downtown residents are nothing more than "a minority of privileged voters" (hmm, tell that to my paycheck), versus "less influential areas who need real help about real problems". Chicagoist also inaccurately portrayed the extent of the new regulations, most of which cover fairly all of downtown, which is more than I can say for Chicagoist.

Can anyone imagine Chicagoist's parent blog in NYC, Gothamist, sanctioning the editorial treatment of downtown New Yorkers this way?
