Happy Birthday, Chicago Carless! Here’s a look back at the last four years of my life as an open blog.
Two weeks ago, I alluded to a cool, new blogging project I was invited to be a part of. Today, that project is being unveiled as a public beta. As some of you already know, I’m talking about ChicagoNow, a new blogging community in development by the Chicago Tribune as a way to increase the masthead’s relevancy in an increasingly Web 2.0 world.
Today, I’m the featured guest on Chicago’s homegrown Feast of Fools podcast, the most popular LGBT-themed daily talk show on the planet. Wonder twin powers, activate! Form of: a giddy gay blogger!
After three years and more than 300 posts, CHICAGO CARLESS has attracted a faithful audience–and one that I much appreciate. That readership has grown larger since I relaunched the overhauled blog a few weeks ago, so I’d like to welcome you all back to my humble Internet abode by telling you about my new Best Of category where I’ve grouped the posts I think best reflect what I and my blog are all about.
The fact that I missed the two-year anniversary of Chicago Carless is a lot more important than the fall of my two-year relationship. So in celebration of the belated anniversary of my life being an open blog, I give you a look at the past 12 months of Chicago Carless.
A big shout-out to Centerstage Chicago today. Two weeks ago, Centerstage scribe Jessica Herman asked me if I’d be interested in being interviewed for their regular You Are What You Blog column. That interview debuts today and dubs me ‘a born-again Chicagoan.’ Truer words were never spoken.
