“Navigating city life without owning a car”

This heartening recent Sun-Times article proves that Yours Truly is not the only brave soul to call Chicago home without the added burden of owning a car. Props go especially to one interviewee who says about her former $60,000 Lexus,

“But how could I possibly justify that to drive a mile and park in my garage for almost $300? It just doesn’t make sense.”

  1. The SunTimes link is broken so I’m not able to read the article. For me, not needing a car has taken a huge $$ burden off my back. I couldn’t care less about parking and gas prices. I use http://www.igocars.org when I need it; there are six of them parked within a 10-minute walk from us (I’m in the West Tower). There’s also the Enterprise rent-a-car at Hilton Inn. With these and public transport there’s absolutely no reason to own a car here.
