Best Grilled Cheese in Chicago

(Photo: More butter, less begging, now at Orange on Harrison.)

Your mileage may vary, but my favorite Windy City grilled cheese just got extra buttery.  It’s at my equally favorite neighborhood brunch joint, downtown Chicago’s Orange on Harrison.  Read all about the sandwich of my dreams in my review of Orange on Harrsion today on Gapers Block.

"Taste" Tested
There's no sweeter music to my ears than the woosh of 100 collapsing vendor tents, coming down today in Grant Park after the conclusion of another year's Taste of Chicago, the Second City's annual lakeside food extravaganza. Last week, I asked my native-Chicago friend, Rozella, if she wanted to go to the Taste. Her respon...

Time Out at the Oasis
Oasis Cafe may not be in the Wabash Jewelers Mall anymore, but Suleiman Ahmed still makes the best--and cheapest--falafel in the Loop. I said so last month here on Carless. And I'm happy to say so again, in this week's issue of Time Out Chicago.

  1. OMG! What a great coincidence! I was walking down the street just today and smelled grilled cheese. I really, really, REALLY wanted one then. I love grilled cheese and tomato soup.

I’ll have to check out this place…Thanks for making me aware of it…

  2. No problem, Charles. Like you, I lived in Marina City for a long time before discovering Orange. I should mention, too, anyone with a Chicagoland Bicycle Federation membership gets a whopping 20% discount. That is one buttery deal in itself.
