As our loyal East Loop food correspondent, can you lend any insight to the “return” of the Oasis Cafe to the jeweler’s mall? I saw a sign to that effect the other day but haven’t had a chance to stop by and see if it’s the original or just somebody copping the name. I was at the relocated original last week and didn’t see anything even suggesting such a return.

Actually, what I really wanted was the frozen custard. But with Scooter’s back open at Belmont and Paulina (all hail Scooter’s!), I let that one go.

I got to meet Mar (as in Mar’s) once. We were coming home from the last game I saw at County Stadium and stopped off at the Castle. He’s a very cool guy.

You should have had a butter burger. I mean hell, what’s a few more calories after a day like that?
