So it wasn't "only" the front desk that was alerted, it was everyone on the floor who had to listen to the fire alarms in their units just because mine was overly sensitive. The smoke detector only alerts the front desk - so don't worry about CFD catching you in the shower. However, the heat detector does call the FD but requires very high temps to do so.
